## Gates, fences and railings: do you need planning permission?

Under permitted development, a gate, fence or wall can usually be up to 1 metre high next to a road used by vehicles, or 2 metres elsewhere. Listed buildings and some estates have restrictions, so check with your council first. ## Steel for extensions

Beams and posts for extensions and knock-throughs are designed by your structural engineer and checked by building control. We fabricate to the engineer's drawings and can fit on site.
